Build A Bridge To Better Horsemanship

In order to develop your riding experience into something special, you need to build a bridge in three ways:

PHYSICALLY:

The bridge represents the form your horse needs to take in order to bring the horse’s and rider’s centers of gravity into harmonious balance.  Developing the right muscles over time to maintain that balance will enhance and improve the abilities in any discipline in which you choose to participate.  This in turn may help reduce the incidence of pain and stressful injuries making your horse a more willing partner.

MENTALLY:

The bridge is communication.  We teach you the language of the horse both on the ground and under saddle.  Horses speak volumes if you pay attention and understand the words.  Every swish of the tail or twitch of an ear means something.  To be truly successful at any level or discipline, you must learn to understand your horse.

EMOTIONALLY:

The bridge is the development of a partnership between you and your horse.  Whether on the ground or under saddle, your horse is not a machine to be driven or to be confused with a human friend.   Everything you do influences the horse’s future…good or bad.  You learn to recognize the horse as your dance partner or teammate.  As the leader of the dance, the rider learns to equalize and influence the horse through correct posture, position, use of the aids and body language.  This helps to reduce misunderstandings between the horse and rider.

The rider provides the vision, direction and pace…the horse puts the vision into action.
